Jumper Cable
Camera and light umbilical “jumper cable”. This small section of cable has several advantages. Most stress on umbilicals is at the terminations. With a short jumper cable you can transfer the stress to the jumper cable. It is then easier to replace a damaged jumper cable than to reterminate the whole umbilical. Also at the end of a dive it is quicker and easier with a jumper cable to release the umbilical from a helmet mounted camera.
