The 2023 Kirby Morgan United Sterling Student Excellence Awards ceremony took place at the Guangzhou Diving School on 28th June for the tenth year in a row.
Congratulations to Ma Wentao for winning the ¥10,000 prize, Li Guangjun the ¥5,000 prize and Song Chenglong the ¥2,000 prize. In his speech to the leaders and students Colin Bosher said “When I gave this speech last year we were all still under the shadow of the Covid19 pandemic. It is hard to believe that three years of our lives were so seriously disrupted - work and pleasure curtailed, plans for the future put on hold and physical and mental health impacted. I feel most sorry for the younger generation, who have in effect had three years of their young lives taken away. But now we can breathe a sigh of relief and think about the lessons that we have learned – how to be more vigilant, more aware and how to work together to fight medical and other emergencies of all kinds.”
